This post continues my reflections on navigating life’s transitions. Remember, unexpected beginnings don’t determine how your story ends. You can read more in The Start You Didn’t Imagine: Beginnings Don’t Determine Endings.
When Life Feels Uncertain and Overwhelming
Are you facing a challenge, a setback, or a season of transition, and unsure of your next step? Perhaps you have received unexpected news, feel overwhelmed by uncertainty, and are afraid of what is ahead. If you are feeling alone, discouraged, or hopeless, know that you are not alone on this journey. Reflect on this advice from Deuteronomy 31:6 NLT: “So be strong and courageous!” Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.
When It Feels Like This Shouldn’t Be Happening
If you are thinking this isn’t supposed to be happening right now, this may not make sense, but God’s plan is on schedule and unfolding exactly as it should. Jesus’s unconventional birth reminds us that when we don’t understand unexpected events, devastating news, or the twists and turns in our lives. Sometimes the details of God’s plans are hard to wrap our minds around, or they make us stop and say, “God, really?” But his wisdom will always accomplish his divine purpose. Isaiah 50:8 tells us my thoughts are nothing like your thoughts says the Lord and my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine New Living Translation.
Trusting God and His Faithfulness
What you are going through may not look pretty or feel good, but God promises to work everything together for His divine plan and purpose in your life (Romans 8:28, paraphrased). When we are desperate for God to move in our lives, it’s difficult to let go of the urge to control the outcome. When we let go, God can step in and do what only He can. He is the architect of restoration, the master of the impossible, and the orchestrator of breakthroughs. Trust that God is still the God of miracles, still faithful, and still at work in your life.
